Other Ways to Help
If you live in Wester Ross, we are always interested in meeting new Volunteers or potential new Trustees. The best way to get in touch, and find our how you can help, is by visiting our Facebook page.
Otherwise, if you would like to make a more lasting contribution, why not create a permanent legacy by mentioning Clachan in your Will? Any bequest that you can make will be deeply appreciated by future generations. All bequests or endowments will be directly managed by the Clachan Trustees and used for the renovation and upkeep of the Church.
If you would like to make a bequest, just include the following example paragraphs in your Will, or make your solicitor and executor aware of your wishes. In the paragraphs below [A] [B] means an amount of money in words, for example ‘two hundred pounds Sterling’ or ‘fifty Canadian dollars’.”I give the sum of [A] [B] to the Clachan Lochbroom Heritage Trust (Registered Scottish Charity SC047544 ) of C/o The Treasurer, Clachan Church, Clachan (Lochbroom), GARVE, IV23 2RZ
. The receipt of the Secretary of the Trustees of Clachan Lochbroom Heritage Trust shall be a complete discharge to my Executors.”
Just in case the name or the charity number of the Trust changes, this paragraph also needs to be included:”If at my death any charity named as a beneficiary in this Will or any Codicil hereto has changed its name or amalgamated with or transferred its assets to another body then my Executor shall give effect to any gift made to such charity as if it had been made (in the first case) to the body in its changed name or (in the second place) to the body which results from such amalgamation or to which such transfer has been made.
“Other kinds of legacy – for example endowments – are also gratefully received, but we can’t provide example wording, because the legal requirements differ between countries. If you, or your solicitor, have any questions on bequests or endowments, please don’t hesitate to contact us – we always love to hear from our friends and supporters.
